David Bonewitz has been active in the fields of architecture and construction for over eighteen years. With prior experience as a design consultant, an owner’s representative and a construction project manager, David has performed the duties of each of the primary roles of a project—owner, architect and builder. These perspectives, coupled with diversity of project types have developed a critical level of construction knowledge, an intimate understanding of the project processes, and a roundedness that informs each project.

In 1998, David founded Bonewitz LLC as a start-to-finish project management consulting firm specializing in commercial projects in the Pacific Northwest. Healthcare is the foundation of the firm’s work with clients including Overlake, Swedish, Providence, Pacific Medical Center, Virginia Mason and The Polyclinic. Leveraging the knowledge gleaned from managing these complex projects has translated to a diversity of project types and clients over the years.

David has a demonstrated ability to manage complex programming requirements and aggressive scheduling while navigating through all phases of design and construction, from early analysis and planning to construction administration and facility maintenance. He has learned to tap into the internal knowledge of each of his client organizations to ensure that it informs project outcome.

For David, project success begins with effective communication and a collaborative environment. Developing a structure early for how information is shared, how decisions are made and defining responsibilities allows the team to focus on primary tasks and expend effort more efficiently. This translates into a better project on all fronts.
